Die Kühlbox für den Autositz, wird entweder auf dem Beifahrersitz oder auf dem mittleren Rücksitz platziert und mittels Dreipunkt- oder Beckengurt fest angeschnallt. Eine ausziehbare Befestigungsschiene verankert das Gerät zusätzlich am Sitz und unterbindet mögliche Kippbewegungen beim Bremsvorgang. Trotz ihrer kompakten Bauform bietet diese Kühlbox Platz für 2-Liter-Flaschen. Der integrierte Batteriewächter sorgt für automatisches Ausschalten bei Unterspannung und für Wiedereinschalten bei Normalspannung (Ausschaltspannung 11,7 Volt, Wiedereinschaltspannung 13,1 Volt). Die BordBar kühlt bis zu 20 °C unter Umgebungstemperatur und heizt bis zu 65 °C.
